Founded in 2002, the **Newark Kappa Guide Right & Scholarship Foundation, Inc.** serves as the philanthropic arm of the Newark Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Inc. With the dedicated support of our chapter members and partners, the Foundation has established itself as a driving force in advancing educational, social, and economic opportunities for youth and young adults in underserved and underrepresented communities throughout Newark and beyond.

Through advocacy, mentorship, scholarships, and community-based programs, the work of the Foundation empowers achievement, strengthens families, and helps to build sustainable communities. We remain committed to equipping young people with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to thrive.

Established as a non-profit, tax-exempt, publicly supported organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code, the Foundation was created to support the outreach activities of the Newark Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Inc. and to serve as a vital resource for the Newark community.

MISSION
 

To raise and disburse funds for scholarships for college bound students who reside in Essex County and its environ; who have achieved academically; who have demonstrated scholastic potential and have a financial need with the use of the funds. 

To provide assistance for local community enhancement initiatives including but not limited to housing, education, nutrition, health and employment and training services to improved the local community's quality of life

Our vision is rooted in the belief that stronger communities are built when every young person is given the opportunity to achieve their highest potential. The Newark Kappa Guide Right & Scholarship Foundation, Inc. seeks to cultivate a generation of leaders who embrace achievement, service, and the responsibility to uplift others.
